What is the secret of this oil?
Along with being moisturising, nourishing and softening, Barbary fig seed oil contains more than 80% unsaturated fatty acids, a proportion well above that of other cosmetic vegetable oils such as argan for example. The difference is also more noticeable concerning the type of unsatured fatty acids it contains. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are present in exceptional amounts, particularly linoleic acid, essential for keratinisation of the skin.

Barbary fig seed oil also has two incomparable characteristics.
First, the vitamin E content, above 100mg/100g (essentially gamma-tocopherols). Vitamin E is an antioxidant, it protects the tissue against oxidation damage (ageing) by neutralising free radicals. Then, the sterol levels reaches the records high of over 900mg/100g. Sterols have renowned action in revitalising and protecting agaisnt free radicals.
In other words, Barbary fig seed oil is a very precious and rare oil with incomparable properties. A must-have oil, which NAFHA is among the first to have used in its formulas (day cream, eye and lip contour cream), and which we are glad to now offer in its pure form.
