Ayurveda, or the "Science of Life", is the traditional therapeutics of India. Among the various techniques used is this handmade ayurvedic soap, made with pure coconut oil and various medicinal plants recognised for their dermatological properties. They have been selected for their astringent, emollient, refreshing, aromatic, antiseptic and toning properties.

In the ayurvedic soap there are 18 plants. They have preventive and curative effects, especially they protect the skin against external aggressions, preserving its youth, its suppleness and preventing dryness.

Its daily use on the body and face is recommended for all skins prone to eczema and psoriasis, acne and skin eruptions, redness, itching, and dandruff.

Among these plants are: coriander, barberry, black caraway, liquorice, Indian bdellium tree, crape myrtle, sweet flag, cumin, cedar, Indian sarsaparilla, vetiver, ginger, babchi, kurchi, and red leadwort. They help the skin keep its beauty and good health.

This soap yields a thick and abundant lather, allowing you to use it comfortably everyday. As a shampoo, it regulates sebum excess, improves hair growth and repels parasites. It has an anti-dandruff action.

The Ayurvedic soap is offered as a naturally green soap bar. Its use is very pleasant, its scent refreshing.

It is good to keep the lather in contact with your skin or scalp for 3 to 5 minutes to optimise the desired effect by an increased absorption of the active principles of the plants by the upper layers of the skin. This soap has a light texture and leaves the skin soft and silky.

Composition:
On a coconut oil base and 18 plants:

1. Plumbago rosea (Red leadwort) - CHITRAKA:
Antifungal, works against dermatophytes, dandruff, and useful against many skin problems.

2. Zingiber zerumbet (Shampoo ginger) - VANARDRAKA :
Antifungal and antibacterial agent.

3. Hemidesmus indicus (Indian sarsaparilla) - SARIBA :
Refreshes the body, prevents excessive sebum secretion, itching, removes bad odours from the body, and prevents prickling heat.

4. Smilax china (China smilax) - CHOPCHINI :
Anti-inflammatory properties.

5. Azadirachta indica (Neem) - NIMBA TWAK :
Antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-dandruff.

6. Acorus calamus (Sweet flag) - VACHA :
Antibacterial, antiviral, deodorising, repels parasites from the body.

7. Andropogon muricatus (Vetiver) - USHEERAM:
Refreshes the body, works against very dry skin.

8. Berberis aristata (Barberry) - DHARU HARIDRA :
Antibacterial, antifungal, works against spots.

9. Cedrus deodara (Cedar) - DEVADARU :
Prevents prickling heat, itching, scents the body, antiseptic.

10. Celastrus paniculatus (Staff tree) - JYOTHISHMATHI :
Improves skin softness, prevents problems caused by a Kapha Dosha.

11. Coriandrum sativum (Coriander) - DHANYAKA :
Pleasant fragrance, refreshes the body, prevents prickling heat.

12. Cuminum cyminum (Cumin) - JEERAKA:
The pleasant scent of serenity.

13. Embelia ribes (False black pepper) - VIDANGAM:
Effective against all sorts of parasites.

14. Glycyrrhiza glabra (Liquorice) - YASHTIMADHU :
Improves the complexion, works as sun protection, removes sebum excesses.

15. Holarrhena antidysenterica (Kurchi) - KUTAJA :
Refreshes the body, prevents excessive sebum secretions.

16. Nigella sativa (Black caraway) - KRISHNA JEERAKA :
Deodorising.

17. Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi) - BAKUCHI :
