For more than 40 centuries, this soap has been manufactured in the city of Aleppo in Mesopotamia, nowadays the second largest city in Syria.
Throughout the centuries, laurel has been recognised as an exceptional product. It symbolises victory.
The recipe of Aleppo soap was brought back to Europe in the 11th century by crusaders, and gave birth to Marseille soap.

The manufacturing of Aleppo soap hasn't changed throughout the centuries.

Nowadays, it remains a completely natural product, exclusively made from olive oil, laurel bay oil, natural soda and water. The 1 to 40% laurel oil content gives it value and efficiency. It contains no synthetic product, no colouring agent, no fragrance, and no animal fat derivative. It is entirely biodegradable.

It is excellent for the face, the body, and to wash babies naturally and gently. It is also excellent for hair and shaving.
The olive oil softens, nourishes and moisturises the skin.

The soap with a more than 20% laurel bay oil content has an antiseptic and disinfecting effect. It is recommended for acne, eczema, psoriasis, cradle cap, dry skin, dandruff. Aleppo soap is suitable for all skins, even the most sensitive. It leaves a soft protective film on the skin.
LAURALEP manufactures certified ORGANIC Aleppo soaps in Syria. First cold-pressed organic olive oil, much purer, usually kept for cooking, is used. This oil contains vitamin A (that favours cell renewal, preserves the skin's elasticity and reduces wrinkles), and vitamin E (that moisturises the skin).
These soaps also contain a high level of organic laurel oil. This oil has antiseptic, disinfecting and soothing properties.
The low temperature recipe preserves all the properties of these oils.

Truth fact: The soap is made exclusively with olive oil and laurel oil in our soap factory. The white colour (that can be observed on certain batches) is due to the first press olive oil used. There are no seeds or waste that give a green colour and strong scent...
